"As we are cinema volunteers, not qualified childcare providers, parents/carers must be responsible for their children at all times. Volunteers cannot look after any children, and children cannot attend screenings unaccompanied.

If you are asked by a parent/carer to look after a child, explain that you are not able to, even for a short amount of time, as all children must be supervised by a parent/carer.

In the unlikely event that a child becomes separated from their parent/carer, first see if the parent/carer is within sight. If they are not in sight, notify another volunteer asap, and together with them escort the child to the cafe area, beside the bar, where they can wait for their parent/ carer.

As we are not qualified to provide childcare, for health and safety reasons avoid situations where you are alone with a child or children. "
