Projection Equipment
From The Star And Shadow Cinema Wiki
MOBILE CINEMA PROJECTION EQPT.
1. 8ftx 6ft projection screen (as found here)
2. A 3000lumens projector with a long throw lens. (as found here). We just purchased a new projector for the Star and Shadow which keeps better quality for widescreen films, more info
3. A vhs/dvd player - any will do, but here is one from a UK website we are about to buy for the Star and Shadow. I think it is useful if it can play VCDs and DivX formats too.
4. Speakers - powered. I have always used studio monitor speakers, which go quite loud but are very small and easy to transport. But any p.a system would be fine, it is just a case of connecting dvd player to amplifier. Stands are necessary if you go for the ones linked - I always used microphone stands.
5. A mixer - if you are going for powered speakers, and so dont need an amplifier, a small mixer is really useful, and you can plug other sources in for live music/speech etc.)
6. Cables - SVHS cable from vhs/dvd player to projector. Phono audio cables from vhs/dvd to mixer. 2x long XLR cables for stereo sound output to speakers.
7. Power. Extension cables and such like. And A good solar solution might be:
- 50-100watt solar panel
- 1000watt inverter Inverter FAQS
- Deep cycle battery/s - Battery FAQS
- Battery charge regulator - to make sure you know how much juice is left.
- A small fuse board with trip switches and connections between devices.
8. Flight cases if going mobile - to keep the projector, mixer and dvd player safe.
