Matters Arising:

Brochures: Fewer brochures have been printed up this time.

Distribution: Venues and mailing list get priority in distribution. After 2 weeks, another pick-up/distribution effort.

Action: Send email re: distribution.

Fridge: We have 2 coming and a brand new one. Delivery of a new one will be on Saturday morning 7/7/2007. Disposal of old fridges: ask volunteers with a van to come and help take fridges to the disposal point in Walker. Several strong volunteers will be needed for this!

Action: Send email re: fridge disposal.


Database:

The database has missing and repeated information. Who looks after the database?

We need to ensure that we email over posting information.

September's brochure will have a card asking people to update their info and if they wish to remain on the mailing list (email or postal).

Action: Wednesday, Craig to help update and clean up the database, donate a computer mouse and start up a revised database on the computer in the box office.



Fire Risk Assessment:

Held on Monday 02/07/2007.

A few minor repairs needed to meet the fire safety standard. A report will be given to the cinema for action.

Action: Keith will finish off a fire safety plan.

We need key holders to be fire responsible – training needed.

Action: We need to make the evacuation plan and fire assembly point visible/known to all.

New volunteer fire safety training should take place within the general training.

Action: Prompt cards for volunteers for what to do in case of fire.

Action: Every 6 months we need a refresher training session.

Action: Weekly testings to be done in collaborating with next door.

Action: Amanda will help advise on fire training and has a basic fire-safety training DVD that we can use for cinema volunteer training.

We need to ensure that all electrical items are safe.

Action: Mat to get PAT training and a PAT tester.


Art Jam:

Opus have a private hire on Thursday. They will get rid of anything in the corridor space that they don't want interfering with their exhibition. They will keep some things up.

If we wish to keep some of the art jam pieces then we need to find a way of either removing them or covering them up for future use of the space.


AOB:

Action: to organise a general clean up/tidy and maintenance of the cinema. First weekend in August?

Beach Festival weekend: Do we have any plans as yet? We need to organise a day to order and make things (Tiki bar, surf board exhibition, beach, corridor cinema screen).

Action: Organise a van to go to Children's Warehouse.

Action: Wed 11th meet together to organise things.

Action: Sunday 15th start to building and set things up.


For the next general meeting:

Bar refurbishment (including the free shop).

Admission fees (including concessions and free entry for asylum seekers).
