1. First thing you should do is check out the list of press contacts on the wiki and try to get your event into as many magazines/websites as possible because they usually need to be told well in advance to meet their deadlines.

 You could also ask them whether they'd be interested in sending someone to review the event.

2. Put posters up at least 3 weekends before the event; most people tend to see them on the weekend (there's a list on the wiki of good places to put up posters. Make them no smaller than A3 and in colour or you might as well not bother. A professional image is everything!

3. Think about putting tickets up for sale in advance. This is good because sometimes people might be deterred on the night by bad weather or just being tired, but if they already have tickets they'll show up. Advance tickets also make your event look more professional and make people think it might sell out.

4. If you think your event might be a draw, spend some extra money on flyers, find out what event are taking place before your event that might have a similar audience and leave some flyers there on the night.

5. Set up a Facebook event (see wiki) at least 3 weeks before the event, not 3 days! People take time to decide.
