Recognition for what we do

By 2010 we want to be recognised for what we do! We'd like:

1. Our reputation to be widely respected!

2. To be recognised for our unique identity

3. Our name to be accepted and admired

4. To still retain a strong DIY ethos, making us an accessible organisation...

5. To have increased our national and international profile

6. To have the best programme, recognised for its outstanding quality!!

7. The phrase 'a bit Star & Shadow' to have entered the national consciousness!!!

How do we achieve this? Here are the action points that came out of the forum... They are labeled according to the time frame for implementing them.

1. First and foremost, we focus on what we do and stay true to our underlying ethos! That's the most important and self-evident character of the cinema; we focus on what we do, not how we appear! (SHORT TERM to LONG TERM)

2. We continue bringing national and international visitors, we visit other places and projects to cultivate links and exchange ideas, we attend festivals and other similar projects and we continue being part of and developing the national & international networks that we are in... (SHORT TERM)

3. We identify user groups that may benefit from using the building and we invite them in! (MEDIUM TERM)

4. We add reviews of our events on the website. (SHORT TERM)

5. We develop outreach and educational workshops to encourage a wider range of people to get involved, thus spreading the message of what we do... (MEDIUM TERM)
