Hot to put stuff on the website

So you've been to a programme meeting, you've put the text on the wiki and it's inclusion in the programme has been confirmed by the brochure compiler. Now you can help your event be successful by making your own page on the public website: www.starandshadow.org.uk. It's good if you can do it yourself as it spreads the work around, you are probably the best person to write the page, and you can get it up well in advance. And here's how:

1.Go to www.starandshadow.org.uk/shared/

2.Look for the “site login” option at the bottom of the left-hand column and click there.

3.If you are not a member it will ask you for a Login Name and password. Once you have provided this you have access to the website and some more options should appear towards the top of the screen.

4.Click on the appropriately named monthly folder, eg www.starandshadow.org.uk/shared/sept08.

5.Using the menu bar across the top click on the "Add Item" that will trigger a drop down set of options such as film and gig

6.Fill out all the name, date, time, length, etc details. That's the easy bit.

7.Next put your description in, which is probably easiest cut-n-pasted from somewhere else. Whilst you can put as much text as you want in, make it catchy. And there is also the option to add pictures.

8.Once you have filled these in, click on the “save” option at the bottom of the screen and have a look at your glorious work.

9.Now you need to click on the “publish” tab which is on the right-hand side of the top menu bar in the screen.

10.It's worth clicking on the relevant day on the calender on right, just to check you've done it right.

There you go. Not too difficult.
