Part of the regular cinema of the world screenings Star & Shadow present the latest offering from multi-award winning Kurdish-Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi (A Time for Drunken Horse, Turtles can fly).
Half Moon is an enjoyable and moving road movie that centres on the story of Mamo an ageing Kurdish musician living in Iran. It follows the trials and tribulations of his journey, along with fellow musicians, to Iraqi Kurdistan for one final concert. Ghobadi has proved a skilful director of beautiful human stories, Half Moon is no expection.
The screening is preceded by the Iranian short Tehran 7.00am and is followed by an evening of Iranian music in the bar.
