PRESS RELEASE: BEACH PARTY

Annette Funicello and (usually) Frankie Avalon spend their summers hanging around, surfing, looking great in swimwear, falling in and out of love, singing kitsch nonsense, and avoiding the bad guys. William Asher, Film Director, Beach Party,1963

During the daytime and outside, the Star and Shadow will be teaming up with the Tanners Arms for an Ouseburn Festival Carnival, while inside the cinema there will be a mask making workshop for children – Making masks is fun; today I was a tiger and a frog and a witch! In the evening we will be screening three films from the fabulously kitsch Beach Party film series.
We’ll kick off Beach Party in a screening on our very own beach, and then take it inside for more movies from the series, DJs and cocktails with parasols in! Christo Wallers, Director, Star and Shadow.
