General Meeting, Star and Shadow Cinema, 3rd September 2007

Agenda items

  1.       Volunteers training day
  2.      Amnesty and Youth drama project
  3.      Medact project

        1.         Induction training would be held on Saturday, 8th Sept from about 11-00 pm. Ilana to send e-mail to advertise this event. Keith to assist on induction issues


        2.            An Amesty event is planned for the 20th Oct 2007. Alison and Ruth wished to develop a drama /film group and were looking for a venue which would permit filming. To develop further and submit more specific proposals for consideration.


        3.            Tony said his group Medact wished to programme some films for next year, circa April, The War Game would be one of these.


        4.          A Polish event is scheduled for Saturday 13th Oct which would consist of exhibitions, film shorts plus a feature film. Funding for the feature film was requested. It was suggested that if the feature was shown as S&S cinema event conditions that it could be funded that way. Some technical assistance would be required to help run the films.


        5.           Chris, from “Bit of Crack” asked about installing gantry lights in the bar. Bill said he would assist in this matter.


        6.            Ilana would chase up development and printing of Oct/nov programme


        7.            Ilana to progress rates relief appeal issue as payment of the full rates would be a heavy financial burden on the Cinema


        8.            Ilana mentioned that a discussion document about roles and responsibilities within the cinema had been sent out and it was hoped that people would put themselves forward for the types of roles identified in it within the Cinema
