Present: Lindsay, Sylvie, Tarrin (sp? sorry) , Hannah, Haz, Claire, George, Dimitrius, Ed, Marick, (again sp. again sorry) Lucas.

The group were concrened that health and safety would be (more of) an issue if the cinema does go ahead with trying to have more children in the building. Ed offered to talk to his work (the council) about the possibility of making some facilities money available to the cinema to improve its child friendliness eg socket covers, baby changing mats etc We were wondering about what the issues were regarding CRBs and registering with Ofsted. It was suggested that a monthly parent and baby/child screening would be a good way of starting things off. Also, making connections with local first schools (perhaps by way of a questionnaire) would also be useful. Times were discussed. Which would be the most viable time slot. Sat or Sun morn? Would it be worth piloting a few times and seeing which was the most popular? Another possibility is making contact with local area committees to discuss any financial support that is available. Someone would need to commit to taking this on. We also discussed possible films (Sylvie has suggested a few) and what age groups they would be suitable for. Harriet suggested that the cinema start small, both in terms of ambition and in terms of age as smaller children are perhaps easier to welcome in the first stages.

Harriet will try to find the risk assessment paperwork for the cinema and bring it along to the next meeting which will be... Next meeting at 5pm on 11/02/08.
