Mar/April Programme
Programme to come…
AOB
Local DJ/Tunes Event:
‘Autonomix Collective’ (AC), party of about 200 people – capacity 110. Promoting Local DJs. www.myspace.com/theautonomixcollective
· Discussion of ‘Stetchy Munters’ night and how it didn’t work at the S&S – we need to have a discussion about that/evaluate the evening. We are not a club venue.
· The AC have lots of volunteers to help out – a collective of friends. Problem of volunteers being part of the party rather than responsible volunteers. We need a trust-based relationship.
· No late licence available for this event. Cinema has priority over late licences.
· The AC to email us a proposal/information – timeframe: after June. They will invite us along to their nights in the meantime so that we can check it out.
· Cinema DJ nights – The AC have the opportunity to come along to DJ after cinema screenings. A good starting point where we can build a relationship. Mat to draft up a proposal for this idea.
· The AC to come along to the cinema to get a feeling of the cinema, volunteer to get an idea as to how the cinema works and what it’s about.
· S&S need to work out the balance of cinema/live venue.
Andy’s Exhibition
Start: 25/05/2007, End: 15/06/2007
· Andy will not do the show unless the space is treated like a ‘gallery’ – bike parking, opening times, etc. Invigilator at all times. Andy to arrange volunteers to staff his exhibition.
· Is anything booked and how long can he have the space?
· Programme publicised – Exhibition times.
· Midnight Movie possibility? Ticketed movie, free exhibition. Licensing times mean that the movie will have to be over and people out by 1am.
· What is that space about? Exhibition/programme relationship/crossover. Also, that space is a smoking space.
· 29/05: Better Noise gig, 15/06: Fiona Wright performance (TBC), 02/06: Road to Rimini event
· Bike rack to be moved to behind the box office. Andy to board up the alcove spaces and any partitions that may need to be added.
· We need to prioritise that back room – clean up and organise.
· Copy deadline: 30/03/2007
· Ilana to ask insurers about temp cover. Andy to also research this just in case.
Udder Chairs
Exhibition (the above applies)
· Semi-permanent exhibition in the bar area.
· The bar area gets moved around a lot depending on the event and what people want. Pieces may be lost/damaged. Perhaps an area rather than the whole bar should be used (library area). However, the work is intervention rather than exhibition.
· Publicised and notices up about the pieces to make people aware that they’re there.
· Cat is applying for funding and is looking at beginning of July.
· Copy deadline for July: 31/05/2007
Mar/Apr Programme Review
· No more for April!
· Programming as seasons works well, especially for marketing.
· March stronger as a programme. April a little bitty and carelessly fitted in.
· Programme layout not comprehensive for April.
· One music event a week (unless it’s after a film) – we don’t have to say yes to everything! We need to be stricter with our regular open days.
· Conduct a survey as to what our audience wants to see (specific titles/kinds of films). Suggestions space (web/poster in the bar/mail out/forum/suggestions box). How do we make the link between what people would like to see and how they can get involved?
· Members’ forum on the website? People can start threads for discussion. However, we will need someone to facilitate that.
· Sarah to make up feedback forms/suggestion cards to be handed out with tickets.
· Starting point: ask Simon about online forum and Sarah to make suggestion cards for our customers (trial by asking simple question about what people would like to see at their cinema).
